UNDER 10 BLUE
LANGWARRIN v SEAFORD YELLOW
12:10:82 v 7:4:46
This is the second time we have played Seaford Yellow this year and they were certainly pumped again to give us all they had. Last time we beat them by 39 points, this time 36 points. Not much has changed. They won the toss and elected to go against the wind. Bad move!! Give us an inch and well take a mile. We were 20 points in front at quarter time and they had started to get frustrated already. The second quarter against the wind saw us kick a bit inaccurately, but we were still 17 points up at half time. The third quarter saw us tire them out and they started to tackle and push in an effort to stop us. But this only gave us free kick after free kick and we ended up 41 points in front. The last quarter got even tougher and they came back with the wind and some long kicking to peg us back a little, but it ended up being a well fought victory for us.
In this game, I had promised our centre half-back, Michael Parker, a full game on the forward line. Michael played a great game at centre half-forward and enjoyed every one of his five goals today. His replacement at centre half-back was Toby Kennedy who was given the job playing on Seafords Interleague representative. Toby played so tight on him and completely took him out of the game to the point that they moved him off Toby. Robert Young also played a great game today rotating from half forward flank to half back flank, depending on which way we were kicking. When in defence, he was brilliant in getting the ball back into our forward line, while up forward he kicked his first goal of the year and helped set up a few others. Zac Evans also played well especially in the ruck for the last two quarters. He ran well with the play and came off looking like hed just run a marathon. Great effort, Zac!! Phil Strahan was another good player today, playing in the centre and helping out with the all important centre clearances. Congratulations to Ben Kramer for also kicking his first goal of the year. Now we only have one guy who hasnt kicked a goal this year, so next week lets help him out to make it all 18 players to kick goals in a season.

Robert Young, Jayden GroseGOAL KICKERS:Michael Parker, 5; Jarrad Grant, Phill Strahan, 2; Robert Young, Ben Kramer and Michael Bazley, 1.

HELP
LANGWARRIN v SEAFORD BLACK
3:3:21 v 8:5:53
Since moving from B Division to A Division, its been a pretty tough road for the boys with only one win out of the last four matches, but that in no way reflects the ability or the determination the boys can show when willing to give 100% as Sundays match showed us by winning many times out of the centre and moving the ball well to the half forward line, but unfortunately their strong back line made it difficult to convert. But by the same token, our own backline worked extremely well, holding off many attacking moves by the opposition and putting us back into attack. Anthony Briscoe, moved from his usual full back onto the forward flank, played an outstanding game as did our full forward, James Kelly. All on ball players gave everything they had as did our Under 9 helpers to whom we are very grateful for their efforts. Although we didnt win the match, the effort put in by the boys deserves congratulations and as a coach, I really cant ask for any more than that. Well done boys!!
