LANGWARRIN v MOUNT ELIZA

7:12:54 v 7:9:51

This game was up and down all day. Mount Eliza started off well in the first quarter with their accurate kicking, however our boys lifted and dominated the second quarter and it looked like we would go on with it. The third quarter honours were about even, then Mount Eliza mounted a big comeback in the last and it ended up a real nail biting finish with us just getting up by three points!

We needed to try and start off the second half with a win and you did guys, so well done to every player and dont forget this was virtually Mount Elizas season on the line here, so no wonder they had a red hot go! While we still had three players out today, it was good to welcome back Mark Daykin and Greeny who are both important members of our team. It was also very pleasing to see Jamie Galea back playing the type of football we know he can, the tackles laid by Boofa and Daykin in the dying moments were sensational and the team jobs that both Brad Sox Emmitt and Joel Warner accepted and carried out at short notice made a big difference. They both did themselves proud. It is also important to mention a few other good contributors today - Ryan Rio Grose who was prepared to listen and try new things that we discussed during the week, put them into practice and again played a great game, Ben Hunter in only his second game has made big contributions both games and will continue to improve, Grant Oorloff ran rings around his player and showed great determination, as did Adam Dino Wilson who continues to improve and is hard and straight at the ball and backs his judgment!

LANGWARRIN v EDITHVALE-ASPENDALE

7:11:53 v 14:6:90

In windy conditions the guys tried hard all day, but Edi-Aspendale were too good. We have to learn to play good footy for a whole quarter and not just ten minutes. That was our let down. James Armstrong was fantastic at full back and his disciplined punching from behind was just what I asked for. Trevor Marks was just as good. Chappy and Plugger tried hard all day, Justin Corrigan has found his feet in the middle and is getting better each week. Chris Peck was good again on the wing, Damien (Damo) Tobin was hard at it again sporting a black eye from a training mishap, Ryan Glen was good again as was Matt Bellville (Belly knows he can do it and Im happy the way he has been playing). Gains and Moon were great too Every time we got it down to our forward line, the man mountain (Scotty Robertson) marked it. This guy is getting better and better each game. Chris Simpson was skillful and fast on half forward flank. Im waiting for this guy to explode and have a game to remember. Darren Dredge also played well after being out for some time.

BETTER PLAYERS:M Thorn, J Armstrong, J Corrigan, D Tobin, B Gains, T Marks, R GlenGOAL KICKERS:D Tobin and S Robertson, 2; S Szatke, M Bellville and M Thorn, 1.

Coach: Steve Strahan
